The County Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Caribou Branch Manager Dustin Graham was recently presented with the first annual John G. Murphy Rising Star Award by the Maine Credit Union League at their annual convention on May 17, 2024.
The John G. Murphy Rising Star award is given to a Maine credit union employee who is newer to working at a credit union and whose dedication and exceptional talents are already recognized and admired by their colleagues. Former Maine Credit Union League and Synergent President/CEO John G. Murphy started his career with MECUL Services Corp. in the Print & Supply Division in 1973. With more than 40 years of service in the credit union industry, he became a visionary leader and dedicated advocate of the credit union movement.
Graham started at The County Federal Credit Union in May 2019 as a mortgage loan officer and consumer lender for the Caribou branch location. Graham quickly gained the respect and admiration of his teammates as well as management, and over three years, he developed into a fine example for his peers. In August 2022, Graham was promoted to branch manager of the Caribou branch and is now a vital part of the leadership team.
“Dustin is currently responsible for the leadership and mentorship of eight employees, from tellers to loan officers,” said Dennis Rogeski, AVP of Retail Services, Northern Region. “Our Caribou branch is our biggest location, home to over 25 employees representing five departments. Dustin is known for his caring, kind demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure his team and credit union members get the attention they deserve.”
Graham holds an MBA in business administration and risk management, has completed the Young Professionals Institute, and recently graduated from Leadership Aroostook. He is heavily involved in his community, having served on several boards and steering committees. Due to his wife’s love of popcorn, they purchased County Kettle Corn in 2018 and continue to operate their small business at Aroostook County events and farmers’ markets.
“We are incredibly proud of Dustin for being the first Maine credit union employee to earn this recognition and for his outstanding efforts and unwavering fortitude in striving for improvement,” said Ryan Ellsworth, President & CEO. “His commitment and exceptional performance have significantly impacted our team, the members, and the community.”
